OSHA & Ergonomics
- Currently there is no specific Ergonomics Standard, but since OSHA announced the Ergonomics Strategy in 2002, OSHA has made significant progress to reduce ergonomic injuries.
- In addition, OSHA has issued 16 General Duty Clause violations for ergonomic hazards with more cases under evaluation for citation. Through use of the General Duty Clause OSHA has found a way to hold businesses accountable for addressing ergonomic issues.
- From January 1, 2002 through March 31, 2005 OSHA conducted 2,353 ergonomics inspections encompassing a variety of industries.
